Objectives

At the conclusion of this educational activity participants should be able to:

  • Describe the appropriate work-up and treatment of patients with vasculitis;
  • Discuss the evaluation, management and treatment of lupus nephritis;
  • Identify the pathologic lesions seen in lupus and discuss the treatment based on pathology results;
  • Identify the appropriate patients who should be evaluated and treated for osteoporosis, and be able to discuss the risk and benefits of different treatment options;
  • Discuss the risks and benefits of biologic agents in the treatment of patients with seronegative spondyloarthropathies;
  • Identify and treat neurologic manifestations of rheumatologic diseases;
  • Identify and treat rheumatologic emergencies:
  • Discuss the staffing, management, and business issues related to practice of rheumatology. Target Audience.

This conference is designed for academic and practicing rheumatologists, their PA's and FNP's.

To take advantage of our special rates, reservations must be made prior to August 17, 2004. Please mention that you are attending the North Carolina Rheumatology Association Annual Meeting.

In order to assure your participation in the symposium, complete and return this registration form along with the registration fee no later than August 17, 2004.

The registration form can be filled-in on your computer by typing information into the form’s fields on your computer screen. The form can then be printed and mailed with your check to the address listed on the bottom of the form.

If you are unable to attend the meeting but would like to be a member of the NCRA, please complete and return the registration form and enclose your dues payment.

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essentials and Standards of the North Carolina Medical Society through the joint sponsorship of Coastal Area Health Education Center and the North Carolina Rheumatology Association.
